    Moscow graphist, ceramist and painter Karen Stepanyants is well known.
             The artist was born in Moscow, in the family of outstanding sculptor A.L.Stepanyants, whose jobs remain deposited nowadays in Tretyakov gallery  and in Russian museum; he passed his childhood drawing, looking through the books and albums on art, often going with father to museums. It would seem, that the further destiny is defined, but Karen becomes the musician. He graduates Moscow conservatory on the class of chello, after that - military service, at last - job in the orchestra . After the death of his father Karen changes his profession, starts to live anew, but already as an artist. The life since children's years in the world of art allows almost without serious consequences to commit transition into the other area of creativity, and the musical experience only helps to this. Karen enters the Leningrad Mukhina school of art and industry (nowadays Shtieglits school) and graduates in 1983. He works in the field of ceramics, participates in numerous exhibitions. But, despite of success, the artist leaves this interesting field. One of the main sides of this talent is movement, filling and improving the internal world and thus allowing to find new forms of expression.
From the end of 80-ies he works in graphics, and here finds himself. Since 1989 the artist has been being actively exposed in Russia and abroad; his works are in museums (Tretyakov gallery, Pushkin Museum, Museum of Eastern arts etc.) and private collections (Russia, Germany, France, Italy, USA etc.)
In 1990 he becomes the member of Union of the artists, then MAFIn Karen Stepanyants' works, especially of last years, we can s--Type Title Here--ee not simply faultless skill - but the rare energy, which is capable to engage into its power field. The thin network of lines, laying of ņolour spots, using the flows of paint, introduction of gold (brilliant and matte) create riches of a surface and unique musicality of his works, at them infinitely.
